Indian Curry Chef

Job Summary

As a Specialist Indian Chef at Kensington Spice Ltd, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of authentic Indian curry dishes. Your expertise in Indian culinary techniques and flavours will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards and reputation of our restaurant. You will work closely with the kitchen team, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and delivering an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken, chutneys, and Biryani’s, following traditional recipes and techniques.
  • In order to ensure uniformity in taste, texture, and aesthetic appeal, make sure that all food items are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Organise and coordinate the activities of the kitchen personnel during service hours to guarantee effective and timely meal preparation.
  • Maintaining food quality standards while supervising and training young chefs and kitchen helpers, and offering advice on Indian cooking techniques.
  • Assist in the acquisition of fresh, high-quality ingredients and keep an eye on inventory levels while following cost-control strategies without sacrificing quality.
  • Make sure that health and safety requirements are followed, that the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic, and that suitable food handling techniques are used.
  • Keep up with the latest culinary trends by going to cooking classes and doing research to add creative Indian foods and preparation methods to the menu.
  • Assure effective communication and coordination between the kitchen and front-of-house workers by swiftly resolving any kitchen-related concerns.
  • Keep a cheerful attitude and act professionally, setting an example for the culinary crew and encouraging them to strive for quality, respect, and constant progress.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • With a significant emphasis on Indian curries, demonstrable experience as a Specialist Indian Chef or in a position similar.
  • A thorough understanding of Indian culinary methods, spices, and flavours.
  • The capacity to creatively and meticulously create and display a wide range of Indian cuisine.
  • Excellent knife skills, food preparation abilities, and cooking techniques.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, as well as the capacity to function well in a busy culinary setting.
  • The most recent information on health and safety laws, assuring compliance at all times.
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities, with the capacity to multitask and properly prioritise responsibilities.
  • A love of Indian cuisine and a dedication to providing an outstanding eating experience.
  • Culinary degrees or certifications that are pertinent would be advantageous.

Indian Chef (Tandoori Specialist)

Job Summary

For a modern Indian takeaway, we are presently hiring a Head Chef with relevant expertise. For this popular takeaway restaurant, you will serve all of the Tandoori and curry meals as the Head Chef. The takeout provides both contemporary and traditional Indian cuisine in a chic and really private setting. We need a chef with extensive knowledge in the particular cuisine.

Responsibilities:

  • Cook the tandoori items on the menu using the provided recipes.
  • Overall management of tandoori dish operations
  • Preparing food by dicing, blending, and cutting
  • Creating fresh tandoori cuisine
  • Managing and educating new employees the tandoori cooks
  • Prepare tandoori meals as directed by the head chefs.

Responsibilities:
